When it comes to creating your own jewelry, you may not be sure of all the tools and the right wholesale jewelry supplies you'll need. If you don't know the names of all the various tools and what the basics are, it can be very confusing when you set out. There are some basics you need before getting started.

First, you need a crimper. Crimpers are a tool with a grooved edge that lets you crimp beads, essentially crushing them down so that they hold the ends of your wire properly, whether you need them looped or knotted or what have you. Crimp beads, made specifically for this, keep other beads from sliding off the wire when you finally put everything together and are also often used in front of a clasp to keep it in place.

You'll also need pliers. Pliers let you hold certain beads while beading, keep wire stretched and taught, and also let you change the shape of beads and other objects to your liking. They work as an extra set of small hands in a way. They let you get a better grip on small objects as you work.

You'll need wire cutters to deal with cutting your length of wire to the right measurements for bracelets, necklaces, anklets, or any other jewelry you'll be making. On top of that, you'll need some sort of measuring tape to properly take measurements before you cut.

All of these wholesale jewelry supplies and tools can usually be found in kits, if you want a simple start up. As you continue with your jewelry making though, you may want to look into upgrading into a variety of other tools or getting pliers of different sizes and so on, to really have the most control over your items.

From there, it's all about choosing the beads you want for your design. Crystal beads, Czech, seed, even glass are just a few of the kinds of beads you can purchase to create your own jewelry. Which you get all depends on the look you are going for and your own style.

Before you know it, you'll be ready to make your own pieces with the wholesale jewelry supplies now in your position. It's actually very easy to learn, though difficult to master, so practice makes perfect! This is the perfect hobby to express your creativity with and no piece is a wrong piece. You'll find your niche and the kind of style you like to create in no time.
