Air Purifiers For Allergies

You might not think it but we're coming on one of the most intense allergy seasons of the year for airborne allergy sufferers. This is because the allergens are attacking from two different seasons and two different fronts right now. The fall allergens that are still being held in the dead leaves under the snow and once it begins to melt, they will begin to blow around and release pollen into the air. It's also coming on the first big thaw of the year and that means springtime allergens are creeping up on us. Grass, flowers, trees, and weeds are all going to begin blooming soon causing more red eyes and sneezing.

There is hope out there for allergy sufferers, however. There are some great tips to keeping your running nose in check. First, get yourself a good over the counter antihistamine (preferably non-drowsy.) You should take it every day and at around the same time. This will help stave off the first signs of allergy attacks.

Secondly, keep your home fastidiously clean. Get out your small vacuum cleaner and the vacuum accessories and get to it. Clean the rugs of course but make sure you don't forget things like drapes, furniture, and the tops of the ceiling fans. The clean house will definitely help with the allergies. Also, take your shoes off at the door. Make guests do the same. This will prevent any tracking of dirt, pollen, grass, and other outside contaminants into your home.

These tips should help but the biggest thing you can do is get the best air purifier that you can and use it in your bedroom and any other room where you spend a lot of time. It might seem silly to you but it's amazing the difference an air purifier can make. It will make sure that any dirt and dust that you kick up from cleaning or bring in from the outside is filtered out of your air and by proxy out of you.

The air purifier is especially helpful on those first warm days where you throw your windows wide open in the hopes of catching a breeze. It might feel nice to get fresh air into your home, and it is, but you must also remember that with those cool spring and summer breezes come spores, pollen, and other contaminants. Make sure you're prepared for the upcoming allergy season with all the tools you need to get through.
