This is without a doubt one of the most important parts of starting your business as it will determine the success of your website. In essence, the domain name is the name assigned to the IP address of your website once propagation is completed on the server. On the subject of your own name, you can use it if you've chosen to name the company after yourself, but in most cases the customer will not want to buy into a product represented by an individual. Instead, they tend to prefer to go with products that are represented by a company. This is your choice, and it all hinges on being able to build a brand name for yourself. On the subject of purchasing all domain extensions, you want to ensure that you buy at least the primary company name. A certain government institution forgot to purchase all of the applicable domain names, and they certainly regret it at the moment. As you can see, buying domain names can be difficult, but it is something that needs to be accomplished if you are to run a successful business. There are many different locations from which you can buy your domain name, though you should make sure you are able to accomplish a domain transfer if need be. There are plenty of things to consider, and plenty of decisions to make!
