How much can you do to renovate your home before you go crazy? At what point do you throw up your arms and say, "I just have no idea what to do with this place anymore!" The answer for room rejuvenation may be right in front of your eyes and you have not even thought of it yet. Crystal chandeliers bring back the glory of romanticism- at least in the architectural sense. It is a popular trend to add these lighting fixtures in kitchens. Any home, modern or traditional can use this kind of lighting to spark some emotion. Iron wrought, vintage gold, and crystal chandeliers are mood pieces for a room. They all have character that brings out similar traits in the furniture and décor. Traditional kitchens look nice with the iron and gold or brass ones because the work very well with stressed wood. They also work when they coincide with brass doorknobs and fixtures. However, crystal chandeliers can look nice with wood and modern metal cabinetry. They are also a perfect addition to a kitchen or dining room that uses tile backsplashes or floors. And the great thing is that these lights can be used for dramatic and casual settings alike. They are not limited to stuffy design. Try a Maria Theresa chandelier with only a few gems, as opposed to one with a lot of accoutrements. In dining rooms they work as a design centerpiece for the table. If you want to get really creative have the candles in the center of the table match those hanging in the chandelier above it. Formulate a color scheme that goes with it and use it as the major element by which all other things must relate. That way you will get cohesion of all the design pieces in the dining room. It sets the tone for a very interesting meal and will hopefully spark conversation out of the monotony of the everyday. In a living room you can use it as an understated piece, more to add effect without being the centerpiece for attention. A low-hanging fixture with a chain works elegantly in tandem with a fireplace, as well as Victorian furniture. Add a grandfather clock or another antique item and you have a complete look for a quaint living space. Who would have thought that just when you reached the end of your rope with home décor ideas that you could turn to something so simple and yet obviously useful. It will not require a heck of a lot of work either.
