Using Xerox For Higher Education

Schools are continually expected to provide for students and faculty. Part of the higher education process is to boost enrollment, reduce costs, and handle financial aid. They need to have equipment that can handle important documentation with discretion and speed. They also need to be able to manage mass scale production for small publications and class and club materials. But in reality the ability to copy documents reaches far beyond the simple stuff that we recognize. It is completely integrated into the system.

Xerox printers and copiers can handle internal processes with fairly quick response. There are smaller office-style machines for typical administrative tasks, as well as large scale poster-ready machines for art classes and other big projects. They can handle booklet printing, library copies, and more. Students and faculty can have whatever materials they need for their class sessions and not have to wait hours for the printing to be completed. Also, coursepacks and textbook copies need copyright management that can be automated with copies sent to whatever necessary authorities.

Enrollment services can make plenty of application print outs for prospective students, make surveys about services, and be able to print out hard copies of schedules for students each semester. This works for admissions and student records management.

That is the benefit of a copier machine. It streamlines the process while still providing high quality results. These things are all very simple but they make a big difference when it comes to the quality of the way that the university handles itself and manages internally all the inner clockwork. What kind of chaos could ensue if the little things did not run so smoothly? Plenty. Slow machines that jam or print improperly equal long lines and disgruntled university goers. It also means headaches for administrational offices stuck in a schedule and need timely records. Offices that need to file taxes and financial aid, or even study abroad legal documentation all need papers copied, filed, and sent in a timely fashion.

Ultimately without a good photocopier the entire system crashes. Who would have thought that such a simple change in technology could have such an impact? We cannot go back to everything being handwritten because it is not feasible, not in our busy world. It is beyond that point and the only way to move is forward. Xerox has made all of this possible and such technology is continually being improved upon.
