Bathroom Renovation and Picking Lighting

Bathroom renovation projects are pretty exciting to take on. The bathroom is, after all, the most important room in the entire house. You can store food anywhere, you can sleep on the floor if you must, but every house needs a bathroom. Having your old one redone is going to make you feel like you bought a new home! But despite all the things you can change, one of the parts that many people overlook spending their money on is lighting. They may put it into other parts of the project, or skimp out to save money. But bathroom lighting is pretty important to your bathroom renovation. When it comes to lighting for bathroom renovation, you need to realize that it is broken down into various layers. The first and most important being task lighting. Task lighting are the lights that give enough visually for you to do what you have to do in there safely. You don't want to slip in the tub because you couldn't see well. Task lighting varies depending on where it's needed.

Often for the use of a mirror, sconces or wall lights on either side will light up the face well, so you can brush your teeth, apply make up, and fix your hair just right. For the shower, you may not need task lighting if your shower door is clear and lets light through. But if not, it may be smart to have a light with a glass lens fixed on the ceiling. Don't choose plastic, it will yellow from the moisture. Next to think about for bathroom renovation is ambient light. This is the lighting that works to set a mood for the bathroom and add to its style or theme. It's also a substitute for natural light, as most bathrooms don't have windows and those that do have specific styled panes to keep people from seeing into your shower! A central, surface mounted ceiling light is best, but don't think you can't get creative with the kind of fixture you use. Think outside the box. Accent lighting is a nice touch, though not necessary in all bathrooms. But if you have a piece of artwork hanging or specific fixtures you want to highlight, it's a good choice to make things stand out. When you work with any of this lighting, speak to your renovation contractor for ideas to work with your space and consult them on how the wiring will have to be done. Take the time and money to invest in your bathroom lighting because it's going to be one of the most important features in the entire room.
