Infants grown at an amazing rate, and you'll never get the opportunity to travel back in history and re-live those wonderful memories. That is why it is so important to do anything you can to protect the memories of your baby's first year. Or, if someone in your family has just lately had a baby, surprise these people on the baby's first birthday with a collection of photo memories. It will definitely be a thoughtful gift that they will treasure always. Follow a few of these tips, and you'll be able to look back at baby's first year of life for decades to come. Keep a Scrapbook Scrapbooking is becoming an increasingly popular way to record memories. You can place many things in a scrapbook, such as pictures, little mementos, and your personal thoughts regarding the baby's first year. If you don't want to cut up original photos, just scan them or print extra copies of your digital photos. Add loads of details, including journal entries, baby cards you were given, and other items of memorabilia. If you fall in love with one of the pages you produce, you can just take it out of your scrapbook and put it in a picture frame on a wall. A Calendar of Your Baby's First Year There are instances that special memories and events get forgotten simply because they go by so fast. You'll be more likely to record things if you use a calendar rather than a journal or a scrapbook for "spur of the moment" memories. You may use a calendar specifically designed to record baby's first year. Or you could even create your own using a large wall calendar that has lots of space for writing notes down. And then you'll be prepared to write any special events on your calendar, such as the first time your baby rolls over or the very first time they smile. You could always go back and detail more about these occasions in a journal or scrapbook when you have time, but documenting the event accurately is an invaluable part of the process. Create a Memory Wall It can be a great deal of fun to dedicate one wall to baby pictures. Whether you create a large collage of pictures to show in a picture frame, or you frame several smaller photos, you will enjoy the memories every time you walk past. In fact, a photo wall frequently becomes a family tradition, having new photos swapped out for the older ones on an ongoing basis. This can be a great way to fully savor your beloved family photographs. Digital Memories If you are great with computers, perhaps you should create a digital scrapbook or perhaps a photo presentation that is all digital. You are able to download some software that will allow you to import photos and digital clips from your favorite movies, and even include music and special effects to develop a movie which you may put onto a DVD. This can be a great way to preserve baby memories, and may also be a thoughtful gift for grandparents and relatives that live far from you. These digital masterpieces often end up looking fantastic, and will be a long cherished keepsake of your baby's first year. Use these ideas and you will always remember the wonderful milestones in your baby's first year.
