But, you can use this subtle type of hypnosis for good, especially if you are in a position of being a role model and a source of inspiration to other people. Exactly what is covert hypnosis? It's simply being able to talk to people's subconscious and convincing them of something while they are just conversing with you. In fact, most people don't know why they would or could be convinced of something that is normally not part of their normal persuasion. The key there is to be able to overstep their conscious or rational minds, the part that tells them that they can't do something or that it is impossible for them to do. Your job would then be to convince them that it is possible, it can be done, and it will be to their advantage, all at the same time. This is especially important if you are a person of influence; how you act and what you do or say completely determines another's choice of action. And you don't have to be a celebrity to be a person of influence - consider how much influence you have as a government official, a teacher, a coach, or a parent. A few choice words can make or break a contract or even a person. By implementing these techniques, you can establish and grow your reputation as a person of authority, which will make your opinion count even more. Even better, the suggestions that you give people will be followed - because they believe it to be theirs and one that will benefit them greatly. As a role model, you have become a leader. However, there is no leader without followers and if you cannot convince people to follow you what kind of leader are you? A great leader imbues trust and respect, two attributes that you can build with these covert techniques. No better person can motivate people like a persuasive person. And the more people that refer to you, the faster your reputation as a role model is built. Role models need to be inspiring and motivational. Only when you can speak in a way that communicates what your message is that makes it crystal clear and impacts your audience greatly can you inspire people to support what you are working for, work for you and their better good, and talk to others to do the same.
