Have you ever done a Google search for "Juniors Christmas Dresses" either for yourself, a friend or girlfriend? Imagine trying to find a perfect dress for Christmas mass, or for a concert you're going to attend or sing in. It's really difficult to find something that is appropriate for a more formal setting that is still cute and will fit. Also, why do all winter dresses have short sleeves? It's winter! It's cold outside! The problem in this day and age is that smaller women in their twenties still need to shop in juniors clothing stores to find things that fit. But let's face it, no 25 year old wants to dress like a 17 year old going to a high school snowball dance. It can be really frustrating to find something that is age appropriate that won't break your wallet in half. Nowadays, a lot of shopping for cheap dresses can be done online which saves the embarrassment of shopping next to middle schoolers at the mall and having to fight them for the last sweater dress. But what if it doesn't fit? Here are some tips for buying cute dresses for winter online. If you're looking for an age appropriate dress, look for more adult colors. Black, silver, red, and white are more grown up colors than pink or teal. They'll give you more of an air of sophistication and they'll be a little more versatile so you can wear them more than just once for a specific event. The fit is probably the most important part of buying any piece of clothing from a three-piece suit to a pair of shoes but probably applies most to dresses. While looking for something a little more mature, take into consideration how deep the neckline is. Lower necklines may work on some body types and could be great for New Year's Eve parties but if you're looking for a dress to wear to a religious service, a more conservative neckline is more advisable. The length of the skirt is one of the main things to look for in a cute dress that is age appropriate for winter. In my school, we had what we called "the fingertip rule" which meant if your shorts or your skirt were shorter than your fingertips when you held your hands at your sides, the clothing was inappropriate. The same rule applies here. If the dress only covers your derrière, you're probably not going to want to wear it to church. You might think that long sleeves are the most important, but honestly, you can just use a sweater to cover your shoulders if you can't find a long sleeved dress. Plus, that gives you the option to do more shopping!
