Designing a kitchen requires some careful brainstorming. Modern, traditional, French- they all have specific design features. These elements in the décor must be maintained throughout each piece in order to give the proper impression. Thematic design must have layers of detail. Each individual component must interact and complement the whole. Without such attention to detail your home would look like a miss-mosh of half-baked concepts. Modern kitchens are oft minimalist. Tile backsplashes and simple cabinetry line the counters creating an art deco or space-inspired escape. These kitchens have a very cubic structure with a glossy finish to their décor. Stainless steel or black refrigerators and ovens look the absolute best. You want to maintain the illusion that this room is futuristic and practical. High hats and quirky chandelier lighting optimize the appeal. Traditional and country kitchens will almost always feature detailed cabinetry with dark wood. The marble or granite tabletops add a layer of contrast that is not disruptive. Stainless steel major kitchen appliances most fit in these kitchens because they are simple. Because most of the other elements are busy you want appliances that do not draw too much attention. Wolf and Viking appliances are sleek but do not demand the eye to be drawn to them away from the accent marks in the cabinetry. Cultural kitchens, such as French or Asian-inspired rooms, add flavor to a household. They need neutral colors to mesh with the abundance of color surrounding them. Black and white discount kitchen appliances work well in this scenario since the majority of the budget will go to the other items. The dining sets, cabinetry, and wall art will take precedence in cost. Eclectic kitchens will have a similar feel. You do not want the cooking and storage elements to overshadow the theme. Choose color neutral pieces to balance and create a controlled chaos. Standalone refrigerators look brilliant with these schemes. Take advantage of any extra space you may have for small furniture or decorations. This is your chance to play with ideas and let your imagination go wild. Once you have settled on a concept you will be prepared for your shopping experience. Write a list of the most important design elements and carry it with you anytime you think you will buy more décor for the room. If you start to run out of inspiration or ideas, you can look online or in magazines for examples. That should refresh your mind. If something really sticks with you find a way to incorporate it.
