If you are like most families, you probably have dozens of photos sitting around your home, stored in albums, bins and drawers. Even if you have got your photos safely stashed, you probably do not look at them and enjoy them as much as you really should. Instead of simply storing all these precious photos out of sight, why not use them to create an attractive photo memory wall in your home? If you've always admired photo memory walls in the homes of others, right here are a few tips you will be able to use to create one of your very own. Picking the Wall Selecting the perfect wall to exhibit your photos in the best way possible is a key part of the whole process. In many cases, you'll want to choose a wall that is big enough to provide plenty of photo display space. Finding a prominent place can be a great way to make sure that your photos will be seen as much as they really should. You may wish to select a family room wall, a wall in a hallway, or perhaps a wall in your living area. Try to avoid walls that get a great deal of sunlight, as this could cause your pictures to fade. Choosing Your Photographs Since most households have a very wide selection of pictures, sometimes they have a hard time selecting the pictures for the wall. To find good picture wall candidates, it may be helpful to start by looking through albums and all of your school picture frames throughout your home. Also, even if some of your pictures already are in frames, you might want to think of including them in your wall. Since of course, if you like a photo enough that you have already framed it then you will certainly want to add it to your wall. If any of the pictures you select are fragile or old-fashioned, you might want to scan and print copies of them to exhibit on the wall. Of course, you wouldn't want an extraordinary original to get damaged. Choosing Your Picture Frames Picking just the right picture frame to show your photos to their best advantage is also an important part of the process. If you prefer a more formal theme, choosing frames that match or have visual similarities can work well. However, if you are trying for a more casual and eclectic look, you can go ahead and use whatever frames appeal to you most. Creating the Wall Design It may sometimes be a bit difficult to decide on the perfect wall set up. In order to prevent making pointless nail holes in your wall, try making your arrangement on the floor first. Just employ masking tape or some painters tape to mark off a portion of the floor to the basic dimensions of the wall. Then, organize the framed photos in the space until you decide on the perfect set up. Or you may making the job even simpler by cutting out some wrapping paper and then taping it together to make the same dimensions and same shape as the wall. Organize the pictures on the paper, tracing around the frames with a pencil. You may then simply tape the wrapping paper on the wall and us it as a guide. Tap the nails right into the wall straight through the paper. Then, just remove the paper so you can hang the photos in the correct positions on the first try. So now you have nothing to keep you from starting your perfect wall photo layout right now!
