Ben expertly weaves together his own story with that of his Jewish family's history and immigration to America. What makes Dying to Live - The Journey into a Man's Open Heart so great is that at its core it is a family film. Although the film deals heavily in loss and death, it never lets that become the focus. The film is a celebration of life and an acceptance of the fact that life comes to an end for all of us. It is a great film to watch as a family as it brings up some deeply personal issues.
