Your home décor is an extension of your personality and your sense of drama, adventure, or potentially your lack there of. The comfort you have in your own home is built from how you choose to lay it out and what you choose to fill it with. It is everything from your living room entertainment system set up to how you hang a mobile in a baby's room. It is in the art you hang in the hallways and the fresh cut flowers you set in your windowsills. You choose a décor based solely on your own navigation system or the compass you and your family collectively cultivate. It is your chance to imbue a place and a thing with your family's and your self. So it all seems a little more serious than just flipping through a catalog and picking out some nice stuff you want to buy. It is about layouts and room to room personality. It is also about the way each of these pieces of furniture or adornment, and each room as a whole engages with each other. The conversation within your home about style is what paints the picture that your home is hoping to tell. It is in your decision to go with kitchen sinks single or double, or to have kitchen faucets pull out. Details that seems small at first until you have occupied a home for a decade and you realize that the kitchen sink you have chosen has defined you in some small way. Some of these choices about the things in your home will not be so aesthetically based. A macerating toilet for example just makes sense for an American family's home. Similarly bathroom sinks undermount are by far the most sensible choice as they avoid leakage. Still, these decisions are few and far between. More often you will choose bathroom pedestal sinks because you enjoy their look and they match the classical look of your wallpaper or color scheme. You will choose towel bars based on the hardware in the restroom and kitchen. You will choose bidet faucets because, frankly, you are the sort of family that has a bidet. In all these decisions you are constructing a life for yourself and your family. One that will likely influence your collective aesthetic sense for many years. These may seem like pithy decisions to fret over in the moment but when you look at that bidet faucet in a few months, half a decade or twenty years you want to know that you made a choice you can live with. It is the life you have made for yourself.
