The fall is the perfect season for outdoor, fun-filled, family activities such as apple picking. If you have very young children, do not let their ages deter you from participating in these events; in order to include the entire family, simply bring an appropriate stroller with you. If you make the appropriate arrangements, apple picking will be an excursion that everyone enjoys. The first step to a successful apple picking trip is to contact the orchard to confirm that there are still apples on the trees. Otherwise, you and your family will be forced to pick apples from large bins rather than trees… a bit less thrilling in my opinion. The number and type of items you pack will depend on how far from home you are venturing. You will want to dress both yourself and your children in layers, so that you can stay comfortable and adjust your wardrobes in accordance with the weather as the day progresses. Besides clothing, there are many supplies you need to bring when you are taking your small children apple-picking. Pack healthy snacks for both you and your kids, especially if the apple orchard is a long car ride away from your home. Health snacks will give you the energy you need for the day's activities. Even if the orchard does not permit strollers near the trees, bring one with you. You may want it to bring your children to the apple trees. Additionally, it'll afford you a better opportunity to explore the surrounding town. A jogging stroller is good for more than just your morning constitutional around the park; it can easily navigate uneven, rocky terrain and it is suitable for small hills and hikes, which may be a requisite of the apple picking experience. If your children are very young, take a baby carrier with you so that they may easily accompany you wherever you go. If you are allowed to use your jogging stroller on a trail or through the fields, you may utilize its storage components. Keep extra sweatshirts, a cooler, and baby toiletries in it, so they are accessible at all times. Picking apples is meant to be fun and relaxing, but if you have some basic knowledge of the process, it may also include some strategy. Apples on the outermost branches of a tree are the first to ripen. Whether you want the ripest apples depends on personal preference and the number of apples you pick in conjunction with your family's rate of apple consumption. When you pick an apple, rotate it slightly and twist upwards; if it easily breaks from the tree, it is ripe. And, try to leave the stems on the apples since it helps them stay fresh. Apple picking is a great activity for you and your family to enjoy. With age-appropriate supplies such as a stroller and snacks, it will be an experience in which both adults and children may partake.
