Enhancing your child's bedroom can be a lot of fun. But, you can't forget that most often kids have lots of fun when they are able to help out with the adorning of their room. By including your child in the decorating selections, they will feel more possession of the room. Quite often, this helps them to be more conscientious about keeping their room clean and orderly. After all, if they take part in the creation process, they will just normally feel a greater sense of responsibility towards keeping things nice. Here are a few room decorating projects that are easy enough for children to help with.
Individualized Fine Art
In all likelihood, your son or daughter has been developed many works of art over time. Many times children's school art activities and drawings end up in a drawer or box. Rather than storing them away, bring them out and use them as a part of your child's room decor. All you need to do is put some of them in 8x10 picture frames, and then hang them on the walls for show. Your child will be so pleased to see their artwork displayed conspicuously. You can use any type of art that would look nice in the room such as drawings, paintings, and perhaps even a sketch or two. Swap the artwork out periodically so that you can display some new creations.
Hand-Made Works Of Art
Even the littlest youngster can help create handprint art. The only items you need are some disposable pans made of aluminum, some paper or the wall you are painting, and a bunch of colors of acrylic craft or indoor paint. Before you start, protect the surface you are working on with something like a drop cloth. And then distribute a layer of paint in the disposable pans, putting a different color in each one. Help your child place the palm of their hand directly into a dish of paint, and then use that same hand to create a print directly on the wall. To add a cute and attractive touch to the space, have your little one create a handprint edge around all the wall surfaces at chair rail level. All you have to do is find a pencil and measuring stick to mark the wall at the level you want, and draw a faint line of pencil completely around the bedroom. Then, your child can simply create paint handprints all around the room using one or two colors. Another alternative would be to simply have your child make handprints on sheets of paper, then place their creations in picture frames to hang on the walls. This can be a fun way to blend an art project with interesting room decor.
Artwork From Coloring Books
Mere coloring book pages may also be applied to create eye-catching artwork for your child's room. Select a coloring book that features a theme matching the basic essence of the room. Then, give your kid the book and a giant box of crayons. Your kids will love coloring drawings that will soon be used as art for their walls. Merely place a few of their creations in picture frames, and hang on the wall. The bedroom will look very nice, and your youngster will experience the joy of having contributed to the room's decor. As time progresses, you can continue to update the picture frames with freshly colored pages, in order to keep up and a new look.
These fun yet simple activities will be great fun for your children. They will enable your kids to express their creativity, and your kids will enjoy the final project for years to come.
