When it comes to finding forklifts for use in any situation, there are specific all terrain forklifts that are designed to be used on construction sites, in warehouses, and even in quarries and other outdoor situations. The all-terrain vehicles not only make it easy for you to operate your forklift in any condition, but they are a much sturdier and more durable style of forklift that will function perfectly in any work situation. The majority of the forklifts that you can purchase from manufacturers like John Deere and Cat are designed only to run on concrete or smooth dirt surfaces. The reason for this is that the wheels are usually a lot smaller, the engine is not as powerful, and the tread of the tires doesn't have such deep grooves. These forklifts are perfect for use inside a warehouse, as they are designed to handle smaller loads in more controlled conditions. They will not be able to go up and down hills, drive safely over gravel, or drive on rough roads. A regular forklift for indoor use should not be pushed to drive in these conditions, but this is where all terrain forklifts come in handy. An all terrain forklift is designed to run in much rougher and tougher conditions. The tires alone are an indication of how much sturdier these all terrain vehicles are, as the tires have a much deeper tread and are much bigger than regular forklift tires. The extra size and tread give the wheel greater traction and grip on the ground which will enable them to make it up and down hills safely, cross gravel paths, and drive on rough roads. Rather than working with an electric engine like an indoor forklift, the all terrain vehicles are powered by gas or propane engines. The more powerful gas engines provide the forklifts with the power they need to navigate hills, gravel, and rough roads, as the electric engines are not as powerful as the gas engines. They are able to carry heavier loads thanks to the powerful engines, and they are even built to be sturdier and capable of hauling more. These all terrain lifts should still be handled with extreme caution, as they are still as prone to tipping over as a regular forklift. Just because they are built to be extra strong doesn't mean they will be balanced better when carrying a heavy load. They have more grip and traction, but they should still be driven as if they were a regular forklift. It is vital that you do your research into the best all terrain lift for your purposes. There are as many types of all terrain lifts as there are manufacturers, and you will find that each is designed for a specific purpose. Make sure that all of your drivers have been trained to handle the rough conditions on which an all terrain forklift drives, as their indoor forklift operations training will only be the basics. They will need to learn how to handle the rough terrain and conditions for which an all terrain forklift is designed, which is why additional training is so vital.
