Tabletop Accessories for a Do-It-Yourself Wedding

Maybe you are having a small wedding with only the closest of family present? Or maybe you just like the idea of taking control of everything, being able to pick out every detail and set up the reception yourself instead of having a venue do it for you? Regardless it can be a lot of fun to buy your own tabletop accessories and set everything up yourself before the wedding.

The two most important tables, aside from the ones your guests will be dining at, are the gift table and the drinks table. Drinks should range from healthy and non-alcoholic choices to classics like champagne and wine. You should have beverage dispensers for each that clearly distinguish one from another. People will be able to easily tell there is liquor in a whiskey decanter as opposed to a regular glass beverage dispenser. But, to avoid confusion, you should also include labels that easily tell which is which. You can print these like table number cards and place them in front of each dispenser.

The gift table should have enough space to hold gifts, but can also include other great tabletop accessories so it is not a big blank table. Photo albums with pictures of the couple throughout their years together are a nice addition and encourage guests to take a peek into their history together. You can also include the guest book on the gift table, so you can kill two birds with one stone. Guests can drop off gifts and then sign.

For the dining tables, you can print your own table numbers if you'd like to give them a more personal design. It is very easy to create a beautiful design on programs like Photoshop, and then easily print them on cards to be folded and placed on each table. You can also buy your own dishes and flatware for the event. While it can be pricey, if you are doing a true do-it-yourself wedding, it'll be necessary. You can often find great deals on wedding china, so be sure to look around before jumping on a purchase. See if you can get a deal for buying a large number of pieces.

A do-it-yourself wedding, while added work, can be really fun when you get all the right tabletop accessories and see it come together in the end. To know all your hard work brought together such a beautiful arrangement is incredibly satisfying!
