Different Aspects Against In Vitro Fertilization

[Valid RSS feed]  Category Rss Feed - http://www.nextlevelarticles.com/rss.php?rss=92
By : Elijah James

There are many people who have their beliefs or issues with the common assisted reproductive technology of IVF. Christians have an attitude against all assisted reproductive procedures. Here is a little breakdown of a few different religions and their opinions of the IVF process.

Roman Catholics

The Bible gives Catholics laws for being a good person. The religion itself has its opinions of marriage, family, and reproduction. There are certain limitations for the believer and the first one states that abortion and protecting the unborn child is essential. Therefore anything that could harm the unborn child is a sin. This includes smoking and drinking. This religion strictly looks down on abortion. The second aspect is that a child should only be conceived in a marriage that is going to last. Sex outside of marriage is also not permitted. A child in a marriage symbolizes unity between a man and a woman. The third aspect condemns any assisted reproductive fertility treatments.

Assisted Reproduction in Buddhism and Hinduism

Hinduism is a religion of older European individuals. This is a common religion in current Indians and is all based around the Vedas. This religion, however, believes in reincarnation as well as karma. They believe people are called dharma and that it's their personal responsibility. They believe a human's soul is eternal and that it lives several lives to help its purity. It does this to reach a higher level of perfection as well as existence which is referred to as mokasha.

This religion does agree with assisted reproduction treatments however this religion does demand the sperm is to come from a couple that is married meaning only a married couple should partake in IVF. This religion does accept donation from other males. However, there is a limitation stating the sperm needs to come from someone close to you whether it's a friend of a family member of the husband. Abortion isn't something that is looked down upon and neither is adopting a child.

Buddhism began in the year 500 B.C. and it bases its teachings of the Buddha. This philosophy of this religion involves reincarnations as well as purification of the body's soul. They believe the body enters a higher level of existence which is referred to as Nirvana. This religion also claims sperm, ovule, and medical treatments as well as donated sperm are allowed. IVF is allowed in this religion as long as these elements are present.

Anglican

This religion primarily bases its religious views on olden day Christian Churches as well as teachings of the Anglican Churches. This religion does allow procedures such as IVF as well as ET and they also allow donated sperm from the woman's partner by masturbation. However, this religion will not allow the use of donated eggs.

This procedure has many looking down on it but couples who are infertile will often times look past these people. This procedure will allow a couple to have a child of their own and while it is through an assisted reproduction procedure, the egg and the sperm are primarily their own.
