Fleece Blankets and Other Ways to Keep Warm This Fall

The weather is getting chillier, and while it'll be up and down for a couple of weeks, soon the chill will really take hold and be consistent. You need to start thinking about ways to keep warm, especially at night, as the colder weather sets in. You don't want to be caught unaware. Whether it's fleece blankets on the couch, a woven blanket throw on the bed, or a heater where you need a little more warmth, there's lots of ways to get prepared and be safe and comfortable in the fall as well as long into the winter.

When it comes to bundling up in the house, instead of wearing your coat indoors, consider the blankets that you purchase. You may have been using just your cotton sheet set and a comforter all summer, but you are going to need something extra when the air cools down. A woven blanket is a nice choice not only to add a little something different to the look of the bed, but it will add an extra layer. For an even thicker layer that will keep you warm even in the coldest nights, fleece blankets are a great choice. They are soft, cozy, and easy to clean.

Woven blankets aren't just for the bed. They can also be used for the living room or any place where you spend a lot of time. You can use them as throws for the couch or the recliner. It's a lot more comfortable to sit and watch television with a warm blanket wrapped around you as opposed to sitting in the cold.

Space heaters are another great investment. You can get space heaters of all sizes that will work to warm any room. Smaller ones are great for the bathroom or other small areas that you may be in and out of fairly quickly. Larger heaters can be bought for the living room, dining room, or other large rooms that many people may spend time in. Some even have a fake fireplace built in so you can get the effect and warmth of a roaring fire, without the hazard!

You can also do things around the house to keep the cold air out. You can insulate the windows in a variety of ways. The easiest way is to tape up the cracks, especially around windows you don't plan on opening. Just a little bit of coverage can make a big difference.
