Last week I pulled out my shopvac vacuum and after cleaning my sheets, bed-spread, pillow cases, and comforter I vacuumed my bed. It seemed like a good way to get the mattress spic and span before I put those freshly cleaned sheets back on. Some people took this as meaning my bed was filthy. I resent that. Truth is I take pride in the furniture that I purchased myself when I moved out of my folks' place. Sure it was discount home furniture but it is my furniture and I like it and by gum I hope it lasts for a while. I am that way with everything in my home. For one I am not a great shopper. I try and do all of my shopping on the web but even then I would rather be reading the paper or grilling a steak. As of now I do not need much around my apartment. I have new kitchen appliances recently purchased during a very good sale on a website I visit whenever I need to buy pretty much anything. Just because they are discount kitchen appliances does not mean I am treating them like garbage. I have neatly stocked cabinets and drawers for all of my kitchen wares. And you know what? Once or twice a year I vacuum those as well. Keeping my space clean and my necessities functional is an extremely important thing to me and I'm not going to let the snickers of others make me rethink that. If you ask me the rest of the world could probably be a lot cleaner in general. We all have our quirks and if my worst one is having really clean discount home furniture I am not complaining. Keeping a nice comfortable level of cleanliness in one's space is absolutely essential not just to maintaining that discount home furniture and a great looking place to live but also to ensure a positive mental state. People who eat on filthy couches and use broken appliances to cook mediocre food for themselves are generally not happy or mentally healthy. A clean home with new kitchen appliances and discount furniture that is well maintained will be reflected in your general state of being. Letting one's life go off the rails in any way is generally a reflection of their internal life. For me cleaning is a great way to get my head straight and my life in order. Also, I love sleeping in a freshly vacuumed bed.
