Fashion Week, Tag Heuer Watches And So Much More

Fashion Week in New York went off, mostly, without a hitch last week .There were new styles from all of the best designers in the world. There were great new trends and champagne…oh so much champagne. Style came out and conquered New York as it always does and everyone seemed thrilled to revel in it as always. But it wasn't all flashy dresses and flashing lights. Accessories were displayed as well. Designer bags and more than a few watch designers brought out their best work, whether to pair with a designer's outfit or to display them all on their own to buyers and fashion writers from around the world.

Watches have always been important fashion accessories. This is why so many clothing designers have taken plunges into the world of watch design. Meanwhile the classic watch designers Tag Heuer, Cartier, Ebel and Concord have simply continued to do what they do best, and thrive in so doing. These companies have built reputations not on the whims and trends of the fashion world but on high quality engineering, durable parts and beautiful elegant design. That is why they remain a vital voice in the fashion world. They are often an integral piece of class and permanence on an otherwise buzzy style that could be out by next Tuesday.

A watch is so much more than fashion. It is a technology that has remained in many ways fundamentally the same for the last couple hundred years. Engineering that technology remains a craft that is careful and detailed. It is a skill that these companies ensure you pay for. The precious metals that go into most of the big player's watches are also things of implicate value. Unlike many of the designer gowns and wild dresses paraded around during fashion week you can expect those Cartier watches and Tag Heuer watches to be back next year. These are not fading styles they are fixtures, meant to hold onto their clout and their status.

The thing that stands out at Fashion Week are the skyrocketing designers who burn white hot and, those flaming out in a big train wreck. With watches it is always about class and remaining true to the company's vision. The aforementioned watch companies have all been around for decades, some for more than a century. You do not get to that level by following what happens to be hot. Instead you get there by making the best watch you can, and improving it in ways that are honest and real. The folks at Baume and Mercier could teach Vera Wang a thing or two.
