Don't Limit Yourself To Single Malt Scotches

There is nothing to top off a long day like a refreshing ice cold drink. I am a huge fan of drinking a single malt scotch on ice in the hot summer evenings, that after all is my drink. But sometimes you really want to make some sort of a mixed drink, especially on the hottest days. Combining a frosty cold fruit juice(possibly slightly frozen, yum) with a healthy dose of Grey Goose vodka for example is always a great way to feel refreshed after a hard hot day of work. Still nothing is better than a single malt scotch whiskey and these should never be used in combination with fruit juices.

Finding a balance between refreshing fruity drinks and hearty drinks for guys who like booze can be a little daunting. Some so called "real drinkers" will not let a guy slide for putting down the single malt whiskey in favor of a Grey Goose vodka drink. They will mercilessly make fun of you just for mentioning the thought of drinking something that is not your chosen brown booze. I used to be that way until I realized that drinking was too fun and life was too short to be married to any alcohol. There was a time when I only drank beer and now I can not imagine what I would be like had single malt scotch whiskey come into my life. I know I would be a lot fatter.

By the same token I would rather not be trapped in a box made up of single malt scotch brands. There is a wealth of choices to be made when it comes to enjoying a nice drink. Some days are a little too warm for scotch. I know none of my college drinking buddies want to agree but they have got to be lying to themselves. Drinking a single malt scotch in the sun after a long hot day of work sounds stomach rattling. Still after the day is over I will happily retire to my study(and my air conditioning) and enjoy the newspaper and the sounds of my records while sipping on a beautiful single malt scotch whiskey.

So don't let peer pressure decide what kind of a drinker you are. In fact, don't be a "type of drinker" at all. Drink what you feel like when you feel like(work and home life permitting) the people at the bar and office are not doing the tasting for you. Why should they have a say?!
