Home décor doesn't always have to incorporate some extensive remodeling. Some of the nicest additions to the home are the small changes you can make. It's more a matter of getting inspiration from the simple things in life than it is about who has the newest kitchen counters. There could be any number of reasons why you think your home décor lacks pop or enthusiasm but it's sometimes much more easily fixable than originally perceived. Before you start tearing out furniture, buying new carpets, and redo-ing the fireplace a la the home and garden networks, look at the bare bones. How do you use space on your walls? Are many of them blank? Sometimes you can add a focal point to your room by effectively placing wall art. Not only does it add interest where there once was none, it's visual trickery. By placing interesting pieces in wall picture frames you draw the eye through the room to the understated features. It's a way of highlighting wonderful aspects of a room that would otherwise go unnoticed. For example, maybe the room has an interesting structure. You can emphasize the angles created by the walls simply by putting a colorful print in a wooden picture frame. If you want to give the art a more professional edge, try some matting in the frame. A room can be given a vintage appeal when you buy large picture frames with a mahogany or gold finish. Make sure the paintings or prints emphasize the theme. Need a splash of color but you don't want to repaint the room or change the furniture? You can always buy inexpensive frames and paint them to your heart's content. If you like the boldness of black picture frames you can add color matting to border photos. They're great for family photos and photo collages. Consider other arts and crafts inspired design ideas too. Lace matting for 8 x 10 picture frames is nice for cherished photos. Ribbons can string together several frames on a wall in a collage. There are so many little things you can do to spice up room décor. They don't have to be expensive options. Simply look into wall design and buy picture frames. It's a quick and easy fix that can make a world of difference. These ideas embody literal translations of "it's the little things that count" and "a little goes a long way." Attention to detail is always a good quality to have.
