Orthopedic Shoes Save Feet At Concerts

I love concerts, I really do. I've seen so many bands over this past summer I've lost count. It's just a great experience and I have had some of the best memories going to see some of my favorite bands play. But I unfortunately have had a lot of foot problems growing up, from pronation issues when I walk to just not being able to deal with standing for that long. And a lot of these shows are general admission so it's standing for hours at a time.

I was at a point where I thought I was going to be able to go anymore. I had gone to a major show, one that lasted about 6 hours, and I was in so much pain I thought my boyfriend was going to have to carry me out. I hobbled out of the venue with his help and couldn't wait to get on the subway just so I could sit for a while. He was the one who suggested orthopedic shoes to me. I felt at first a little ashamed that I would even have to wear them. I thought, being just 24, that orthopedic shoes were for older people who needed them. And I was really wrong.

I was also wrong when I thought that they couldn't be fashionable. Orthopedic shoes are just shoes that are molded to your foot, with the right padding and the right fit to keep your feet from aching so much. And I was also able to get a pair that would help correct my pronation problem. I actually really love my orthopedic shoes and no one can even tell what they are.

So I tried them at the latest concert I went to last week, which was more like an all day festival that ran from the mid afternoon to well after the sun set. It was amazing how little pain I felt. Sure there was some typical aching, but I felt like a normal person. I didn't have excruciating pain and my boyfriend didn't have to carry me anywhere. I felt better and he felt better too. Between my regular orthopedic shoes and the orthotic sandals I bought specifically for the warmer weather, I'm actually really glad I made the lifestyle change.

I don't think I could go back to regular sneakers, not if I want to enjoy my live music and my life without pain.
