My friends and I are moving into our first apartment in November and there's lots to be bought and to get done. We have just recently been going over our list of kitchen items, because if there's anything we definitely need, it's good items to cook and eat from! We've been lucky enough to have offers of some free flatware and such, but we need so much more than that. With all the flatware we have been offered we will need a flatware caddy. We've been considering both one to place out on the table for when we or guests need to immediately grab a fork and knife, but having a caddy that fits inside a drawer for easy organization is a great plan too. We also need basic drinking glasses and barware. As three adults in their mid 20s, there probably will be some beer and wine flowing in the apartment at times. But you can't drink wine properly out of a beer glass and vice versa. We want to make sure we have a proper set for everything and enough for anyone who comes over to visit. We also need beverage dispensers and multiple ones for various things. It's always good to have a water filter dispenser for everyday use, but also beverage dispensers where we can make mixed drinks, lemonade, punch, and anything else we might want to make. I am also a big baker and while we have the things we need to bake, we don't have any place to put the goodies afterward. Glass cake stands and cupcake holders are beautiful pieces I want to make sure we have in our kitchen. If I'm going to be baking all of these scrumptious desserts, I want people to be able to see them and take their servings at will. We still have to buy our dining room table and when we do, I'll be in charge of tabletop accessories. Everything from place mats and candles to a table runner and maybe even photo albums to use as a centerpiece when we aren't eating. Good presentation with a dining room table is important, because even if a meal isn't being served, you want guests to come in and see that you have a great sense of style. I know I do when I invite people over. Once we get into our new apartment, I'll be anxious to set up all the tabletop accessories, barware and more and make it really feel like a home.
