A copy machine is not a play thing. I cannot tell you how many times I have had to send staff wide meetings about misuse of the Xerox machine in our office. Far too often there is gunk on the glass and the paper tray is hanging off haphazardly. Way more often there are personal copies being made on the work dime. The copy machine is here for us to use for work reports and important reading materials. It is not there so you can advertise your one man show or your band's concert this weekend! I know I can seem like a stick in the mud, but the Xerox printers throughout the offices at my old job were impeccably kept. Honestly it made my job a lot easier there. I know that it is wrong of me to assert the "at my old job" card. I know that I can sometimes come off as a bit of a control freak and a spoil sport. I am working to try and mold myself to the more relaxed atmosphere of this office. I think I'm getting there, the other day I wore sandals. When it comes to the photocopy machine though I have to say something. It is just too important to my position. I can not go into a meeting with a potential client with smudged up dog eared reports. It is unprofessional and it hurts my performance. We can all have fun. I am not going to tell on the whole office about using the copier machine for your personal stuff. But you have to make sure the ink is dry before you just willy-nilly stick your flier onto the glass. It ruins things for everyone. Also, would it kill you to reload the paper. How many times am I going to be stuck doing that? It has already happened way more than I would like. I am coming to you because I am worried about how our copies and the horrid state of the copy machine reflects upon us as a company. I am doing this for all of us. I am so sorry to have to come at you all in this way. It is difficult to adjust to new things sometimes and this would go along way towards me finding some comfort at the office. I hope you will look over my suggestions and try and improve your use of the Xerox machine so that we can all be happier. I also hope that the tone of this does not hurt my chances of some of you accepting my Facebook friend requests. Come on guys, I'm waiting.
