Creating art projects is one activity that many children love. Drawing, painting, and making crafts tend to be fun activities for the children and wonderful methods to practice small motor skills and coordination. As an added advantage, by learning to love art at an early age, your child will probably carry this appreciation for the arts throughout their entire life. If you wish to help your child exercise his or her creative skills while also enjoying a terrific time, here's two fun and simple art projects to try.
Art Using the Hand
Hand art is difficult to beat when you would like a fun, inexpensive, and fast craft project. All you really need is usually a pad of paper, a box of crayons, plus your child's hand. You could start by tracing your own hand on the piece of paper with a crayon. Then, make use of your creativity to transform your hand tracing into something entirely different. Turning the tracing into a turkey is one thing that numerous people have done at Thanksgiving time, but there are numerous other fun and inventive things that you can do using the tracing. An example would be to draw a face on the palm portion and then make the fingers into a spiked hairdo. You could also turn the paper upside-down after making the hand tracing. With this position, the fingers could make an insect or space monsters legs. This can be an inexpensive and creative way to spend an afternoon. Make sure that you take a few of the child's favorite hand tracing pictures and display them in picture frames.
Paper Towel "Tie Dye"
Your child can produce a variety of pieces of dyed artwork by using some plain white paper towels, water, some rubber bands or twist-ties, paper clips, some small bowls, and some watercolor paints. You should initially place a plastic drop cloth or vinyl tablecloth on your table to guard the surface. Take a plain white paper towel and fold it as a fan. Then, use the rubber bands, twisty-ties or paper clips to restrict the folds in certain areas. Pour a small amount of water into each of the small bowls. Then, using the watercolor paints along with a brush, place a different color to each bowl of water. Dip different parts of the folded paper towel into every color. The paper towel absorbs the colored paints, and the locations that have the paper clips, rubber bands, and twist ties will remain white. When you are satisfied with the quantity of color, gently blot the folded towel using clean paper towels until all the excess moisture has been absorbed. Next you can remove the twist ties, paper clips, or rubber bands and check out the beautiful tie dyed work of art. Lay your creation flat to dry. You can even cover the painted paper towel using a clean paper towel and iron it to remove the folds. This beautifully colored tie dye art looks nice when displayed in picture frames, adding a lot of design and color to your room.
With a few new suggestions to try, have some fun getting your child going on a great project. Remember to frame the final product so that it can be proudly displayed!
