Putting Style Into Bathroom Sinks Undermount and Faucets

When diving into a remodel or an upgrade for your bathroom, your main focus might be on the soaking tub or the tile flooring or even the toilet bowls. But let us not forget the all important sink. What was once seen as a functional fixture and nothing more has seen a complete overhaul in the past decade or so. Now we're seeing creative and innovate designs for both the bathroom sink and the faucet.

The sky's the limit when it comes to choosing a sink. Your main contenders are bathroom sinks undermount, bathroom pedestal sinks, and the new and modern vessel sinks. If space is really limited, it looks like your only real option is a pedestal sink. But I would choose these for half baths where you don't need to worry about storage under the sink. In all other main bathrooms you'll really appreciate having a vanity. Even undermount sinks don't have to be so plain and boring. You don't have to settle for a perfectly round, white porcelain sink. You can choose oval, oblong/elliptical, and square. Color and material can be customized to fit the design and style of your bathroom.

Before settling on your sink, think about your overall colors and patterns. Is this a simple, traditional bathroom or are you looking for ultra chic and modern. By thinking about the big picture you're narrowing down your choices and making the job even easier. For the modernists, vessel sinks will look spectacular. These are the sinks that sit on top of the vanity. It's a popular choice in restaurants, but they're springing up all over homes. These bright and bold sinks will really make a statement in your bathroom.

After deciding on the sink, now you turn your focus to the faucet. They may not seem important to the overall picture, but they have their own special part to play and you shouldn't skimp on cost. Paying more now means you won't be paying a lot later to replace a cheap faucet. Sold brass construction is recommended. If money's tight, you can always choose a different finish. The sink will also determine what type of faucet you choose. There are 8-inch, 4-inch, single hole, and wall mount faucets. The first three will be mounted to the sink and you will need the proper measurement to ensure a good fit. With a vessel sink, you can choose a faucet that mounts on the vanity countertop or in the actual wall.

The faucets should not only complement your bathroom's décor, but also the hardware in the soaking tub, the towel racks, toilet paper holder, etc. With the proper coordination and some savvy design, you can turn your bathroom into a truly beautiful one.
