You will probably take hundreds (if not thousands) of pictures of your children while they grow, and perhaps your mantel or desktop is plastered with picture frames already, all of them holding its own memory of your special child. It can be difficult to snap heirloom quality photographs of your own children that really capture their expressions and emotions in such a way that permits you to capture the minute and hold it forever within your picture. It is possible to take irreplaceable photos of the child by using these simple tips: • For staged photographs, you will have to set up beforehand. Decide on lighting and location, and set up your equipment prior to when the child gets there. Be sure to put new batteries in your camera. You do not want to lose a shot or a moment because you were digging around for more batteries. • Decide on natural lighting whenever feasible. The ideal times of day to take advantage of natural lighting sources is in the morning hours, late in the evening, or during an overcast day. It's always best to avoid bright sunlight, which is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., when the sun is highest in the sky. If you are taking photographs in the bright sunlight, make certain that the sun is behind you and also to one side. This makes certain that there is no shadowing on the child's face. • Invest in a camera with a zoom lens. If your children are like other kids, then they are very active. Capturing those good shots of them playing or running is easiest when you have a zoom lens that permits you to get up near the child's activity without chasing him down the soccer field! • For staged photos of the child, be prepared to act silly. This is especially valid if you have a child that's a tiny bit camera shy. Singing, making funny faces, or perhaps using a puppet are tried-and-true ways that you will get a child to smile on your behalf while taking memorable shots. You can think about buying a shutter cable release cord. This sort of cord permits you to shift to one side of a camera on a tripod to enable you to get the child to take a look where you would like them to while you are doing whatever you have to in order to get their attention. Displaying Childrens' Photographs Now that you are able to get the best photographs of your children, you'll want to attempt to display them in a creative manner. Plenty of parents feel that the best wall art is photos of their children in lovely picture frames, and you can prove this true once you carefully choose your very best photographs. You can find an infinite number of ways to show photographs of your child or children, from matting the image in a frame and hanging it on your wall to framing a series of prints in montage picture frames, with each frame capturing a certain period of time within the child's life. One thing's for sure. Pictures of your own child only become more precious as the child matures. If you have meticulously planned your shots and have special candid moments, it is best to preserve them in picture frames that can protect your photograph and display it in its best light.
