The foyer of your home is usually tricky to decorate given that it doesn't really have a particular purpose such as the other rooms in the house. Many people like the foyer's decor to offer somewhat of a hint of what's ahead in the remaining portion of the house. Several things you should think about when deciding the way to decorate your foyer are traffic (because you'll get a large amount of it there), maintenance (should be an easy task to maintain), storage (coats, gloves, other outdoor gear), and versatility (furniture that will serve double-duty). Developing a Romantic Foyer Nothing says romantic greater than a vase with flowers on an entry or hall table. Greenery gives your bouquet a more romantic feel. You can tuck a few of your best vacation or family photos into a mirror's framed edge if you have one. Scented candles, changed with the seasons can be handy and lit every once in a while. If you have a favorite saying or perhaps a passage originating from a book, print it on a nice paper, mat it in a color that's one shade darker than your wall color and place it within a nice picture frame. Eclectic Foyer Paint the walls a bold color that is one that you love. Group together found objects on a table, such as shells, rocks, and pine cones. Place them all together on an unexpected holder, perhaps a silver candy dish or a crystal bowl. Enlarge one of your favorite photos, position it in a handsome wooden picture frame, and hang up on the wall or stand it on a table within the foyer. You can also frame some maps of favorite locations that you've visited in deep green or pale blue picture frames. Contemporary Foyer Frame some of your best family photographs in similar silver picture frames which are various sizes and display on your entry table. Let a well-liked object take center stage on the table or shelf, such as a piece of pottery, a sculpture, or a vase. Keep artwork simple and select one piece that's important rather than a large amount of pieces. Traditional Foyer Cover your foyer walls using a historical wallpaper that incorporates your colors. Work with a console to show a cluster of family photographs which are all sepia or black and white, and put into old-fashioned picture frames. Install mahogany shelves to showcase collections of items that you happen to be interested in, including paperweights or tea cups. For that uniform or traditional symmetrical look, group your items by shape, color, size, and material. If you would love some attractive foyer lighting, install some wall sconces. Up lights that light up a plant within the corner also can create the same drama. Peaceful Foyer If space allows, use a simple chair with a couple of piles of books placed next to it to produce a private reading nook. You may also place a little bookcase within the foyer with some of your favorite books. To produce a peaceful contrast on the foyer table, put a group of smooth black stones inside a bowl or perhaps a white dish. Line up five identical bud vases on a shelf or table and set just one flower in each one of these to get a serene look. Mat and frame within a simple white wooden picture frame a poster, piece of art, or photograph that moves you and put it in your foyer where you may appreciate it each time you leave or return. So, decide what type of style you will love and make use of these guidelines to decorate your foyer. You'll love the outcome!
