The kitchen was a mess. Everything was a mess. The whole apartment had been treated like something somewhere between a turn of the century slum and an end of the world frat house. It was as if no one cared that they were living in filth. It was like everyone was simply ignoring the fact that modern amenities like our appliances were not longer working or worse might work if we could scrape the collective grime on them. The furniture too was tattered. Couches had unknowable stains in various shades of browns, blacks and grays. Somehow I failed to notice as things got out of hand. I guess I had been busy for a few months, sneaking in to my room to catch a few hours of sleep before slipping out of the apartment before dawn. I suppose this could have happened to anyone.
Then as quickly as the mess had been made, roommates begin putting in their resignation. "I'm getting out of this dump," one would say. "This is gross I think I'm going to try and live with my parents for a little while and save up for my own place," said another. Pretty soon it was just me and my three roommates' mess, face to face, no where to run. After a scrubbing of floors and counter space, not to mention a thorough bathroom clean up I started getting rid of furniture. This stuff was gross and would easily be replaced by discount home furniture I would find online. The discount home furniture would offer me a fresh lease on sitting in my own home, where grime had made me suspicious of almost all seating areas. Next I would have to pull out the large Shopvac vacuum and get to work cleaning up various debris strewn about the apartment.
The new discount Cusinart products I bought made the kitchen immediately more user friendly and . I found some other discount kitchen appliances as well. Perhaps with the mold and bug situations subsiding in the kitchen I could once again prepare my meals in the actual kitchen! Losing roommates and sleep over the disaster my apartment had become was like a necessary exorcism. We got rid of the demons that were those mucked up kitchen appliances and disgusting furniture. They were replaced with pristine but cost efficient discount home furniture and discount kitchen appliances. It was like someone had come in and saved me, but it was me all along.
