Wooden Picture Frames Are Perfect For Graduation Portraits

Post graduation nerves only start to settle in when you finally get graduation portraits in the mail and they ended up not looking as good as you wanted them to look. I remember when I graduated it took forever to get the actual prints. I took the picture in April, graduated in May, and I got a sample by June with a form asking if this is exactly what I asked for or if I wanted a re-shoot (which I should probably have taken but didn't really want to). The final prints finally came by mail in July.

At that point I had practically forgotten about having taken the picture at all. Now I had copies in several different photo print sizes sitting uselessly in an envelope on my kitchen countertop. Sure, the wallet sizes could be sent out without frames but the other prints needed something to keep them safe. My parents wanted the big copies so I went out and got a few 8 x 10 picture frames for them. The medium sized photos for my aunts, uncles, my brother and sister needed 4x6 picture frames. Everyone else could deal with the tiny wallet copies.

When I began shopping for large picture frames I wasn't sure exactly what kind of picture frames I should be looking for. Silver frames are classy and timeless, but then again, so are wooden frames. Oh! To buy picture frames that are appropriate for a serious photo like this is almost as difficult as holding a smile for 20 minutes at a photo studio. Albeit, I would gladly take the discount picture frame shopping over the photo shoot any day of the week.

After much deliberation I finally decided to go with wooden picture frames. I just like the way they look. They come in different stain coloring and wood cuts and you can actually find quite a number of inexpensive picture frames made out of wood that look really nice. That made me super happy because I could give the framed pictures as tokens of gratitude for attending my graduation party.

I finished my shopping by looking at frame accessories. I made sure that I bought a few hooks for the back of the frames as my family needed wall picture frames to build a shrine in my honor. The only major thing I still had looming over my head at that point were what "Thank You" cards I would have to buy for the wallet prints. That, however, is a whole other story.
