American River rafting is a great adventure to take. There is something rugged and wild about the American West, something still as yet untouched. The high-circling hawks and eagles, the majestic mastiffs, the rugged spruces have all produced a mythology about the American West as a place of lawlessness, subject only to nature and time. Added to that is the mystique and reality of the great 1849 Gold Rush. Yes…it all started right here on the banks of the South Fork of the American River when James Marshall found a few specks of gold in the tail-race of the Captain John Sutter's lumber mill. You'll pass right by that spot.
You can expect to see stars at night, blurred thousands of light-years away. You can expect an absence of crowds ; it will only be your tour guide and those who accompany you on your white water rafting California adventure. You can expect the unexpected. What will you want to bring? Well, pack light as there's not a lot that's necessary. Sleeping bag. Pad. Maybe a tent. Change of clothes. Toothbrush…...something on your feet other than flip-flops. On all of our one and two-day trips we'll feed you well. Expect barbecue burger or deli lunches with options for vegetarians. And the overnight trips are highlighted by delicious dinners, fine wines and beer…..as well as non-alcoholic beverages. Plus…in the morning we'll get you started with a healthy, filling breakfast.
