When you wish something fun and cheap to do with your child, it is hard to beat easy craft projects. Children usually like to do craft projects, and it's also a wonderful way to enable them to foster creativity. When selecting craft projects, you will need to match the difficulty of your project with the age and abilities of the child. It is fine when the craft is a little bit challenging, but when it is too difficult it certainly won't be fun, and your child will want to give up rather than complete it. Naturally, you ought to plan to assist your youngster with any aspects of the project that might not be considered safe for his or her age level, like a small child using sharp scissors. When the child will complete the craft without any assistance, then make sure that you choose something they will be successful in making by themselves. Here are some great ideas for craft projects that both your son or daughter and you will enjoy.

Picture Frames

Picture frames are great to use for craft projects, because just about everybody can use at least one or two more. They are available in a wide variety of styles, sizes and colors, but additionally may also be personalized and decorated as the craft project. Should you start out with plain wood picture frames, you'll be able to decorate them with a good selection of things, like rocks, sea-shells, or small sticks. Generally, all you will require are several frames, a bottle of household adhesive, along with your decorating items. It's also possible to purchase some chipboard or wood letters so the child can personalize the frame with his or her own name. Allow your child to make a few to embellish their own room, or make several as gifts. Just be sure you have removed the glass or plastic from your frame before the child begins to decorate.

Clay Sculptures

Among the beautiful aspects of working with clay and making sculptures is the fact that there is no wrong or right method to create one. If you wish to allow your child to be extremely creative and not spend a great deal of cash, then sculpting is a great activity. Make sure that you protect your work surface using a vinyl tablecloth, and make sure that the child is wearing an apron or old clothes. Now, let them have a good hunk of clay and see them get creative. Self-hardening clay is often the best choice, since a kiln is not needed for hardening. When the sculpture is dry, it may then be decorated with acrylic paints.

Paper "Mosaic" Art Project

Even your young children can enjoy creating paper mosaic art. It's also a great way to use up small scraps of construction paper, scrapbook paper and even gift wrap scraps. You start out by snipping your selection of colored paper into little geometrically or irregular shaped pieces. Now, you can give your child a stiff section of poster board plus some school glue. When your children are smaller, you can take a sheet of self-adhesive contact paper and glue it face down to your poster board so that the sticky side faces up once the backing is taken off. Children can then create designs by sticking the paper shapes to the board. When they have completed their creations, place them in beautiful wall picture frames and display proudly on your wall.

So, when you are trying to find some easy craft projects that you can enjoy with your young ones, try some of these. And remember to take some photographs of their creativity!
