Creating Large Format Banners

Having large format banners in and around your store is a great way to advertise and to draw in more customers. Banners are inviting and information, letting people know what makes your store stand out above the rest and telling them why they need to shop there. But a custom vinyl banner is only as good as its design. Poor execution and placement will deter rather than welcome customers and leave a poor impression on those who view it.

After you've realized just how great a banner can be, you need to design it. Some of you may be the creative type, but not everyone is or at least they don't know how to execute it. Even if you come up with a good design, it may not work well on a large banner. It's best to hire outside help. If your company doesn't have its own design team, you can easily find freelancers or companies that specialize solely in design work for companies. You can pitch them your ideas and they'll be able to take it and run with it. You want vivid colors, but nothing that is too overwhelming. And too much text can easily become a bad thing. Sometimes it's best to leave it up to the professionals, so hire an expert team of designers to make your vision a reality.

After the large format banners have been created, next comes placement. Everything is about location, location, location -even for signs! Before designing the banner, you probably had an idea of ideal spots. You don't want the banner to be too big or too small for the area. If it's too big, customers will lose sight of the rest of the store. It will be too overwhelming. And if it's too small, well, no one is going to see it of course! Outdoor banners can be easily hung right in front of the store for everyone to see. When placing large banners and signs inside, you don't want them to flood the space. They shouldn't be blocking merchandise or be in anyone's way. Naturally you can't hide them in the back of the store where no one is going to see it. They should be visible from the moment you walk into the store.

Without great design and placement, large format banners will fall short. The best strategy is to work with great designers and to choose a company known for making high quality large format and vinyl banners.
