Everyone with an office needs a few basics. This article will list which ones you need most. Pens. You should have a favorite kind of pen. If you don't and you're cheap, Bic makes fine pens. If you prefer a looser ink flow, the Pilot Precise makes a good one too. If you want to invest in a quality pen, just make sure you don't lose it. Paper. You need paper to write, jot or scribble on. This can come in the form of post-its, notepads or even a Moleskin journal. Scissors are important too. You may not use them every day, but when you do you'll be thankful that you have them. Business office supplies include furniture. There are plenty of desks, bookshelves and chairs you can choose from to make your office more comfortable. After you get your basic furniture, it's important to get some nice lighting. Harsh lighting is frequent in offices, but a yellow 60 watt bulb makes late hours at the office much more bearable. You may want a clipboard. Makes writing while standing a lot easier. The two Rs: rulers and rubber bands should not be underestimated. They often come in handy and when you don't have them, you wish you did. Highlighters are great for making things look important, and for studying. Scotch tape, masking tape, and duct tape are three kinds of tape you should not go without - they cover every occasion and take up three spots on the list. A stapler and staples are essential office supplies. Paper clips are in the same category of paper holders but they aren't as reliable. Permanent markers in different colors are a good idea. They are serious and can write on pretty much any surface. Colored markers you may not use as often, but can be fun every once in a while. They aren't must-have, just wanted to remind you they exist. You may want a magnifying glass. They're fun and you never know what you may want to examine closely. A paperweight can be a nice addition to your desk, even if you don't use it practically. Pencils and erasers are the last items on this list. Because sometimes you don't want to use ink to mark something permanently and a big pink eraser is what you need after you wear down the eraser on the pencil top. These twenty items comprise the list of must-have office supplies. Can you think of any extras? I doubt it.
