We all have that one special person that made a difference in our life whether they helped us through a difficult time, they encouraged and motivated us, or they supported us emotionally or financially. They deserve a proper form of gratitude and recognition for their wonderful gifts. Through honor and sacrifice they have allowed us to continue on our paths so that we can make a difference and leave a legacy in their wake.

Sometimes we feel unsure how we should commemorate these special individuals. Those that are still living can be showered with praise and gifts, sure, but how much does that really mean in the long-run? It's much nicer to show them that their efforts will be eternally remembered. Donor plaques are a great way to acknowledge funding for an institution such as a community center, school, hospital, or charity. They can be hung on walls, placed in pavement, or engraved into cornerstones. Another major consideration is what materials to use. After all, the location of the plaque, be it indoors or outdoors ¬ should determine for what you use it.

On the other hand, memorial plaques imbue those surviving with love, respect and honor. They deserve recognition for the things they've done in life to better the world for others. Sometimes it is difficult to put into words what effect sacrifice has on a community. Nonetheless, names should not be forgotten and deserve a place of resting. It is important to realize that these plaques also represent a place for family and friends to reflect. There are memories to be cherished and futures to honor.

When you have a group that deserves commemorating, celebrating, or thanking. That's when it is most appropriate to get engraved donor walls, memorial walls, or a tree of life. With each individual comes a contribution to the whole and for that reason alone they deserve unique attention. Donor walls and memorial walls allow for that while still including them as a part of the collective.

One last thing to keep in mind is how you want these commemorative pieces to be designed. Do you want certain images associated with the person to be included? Are dates important? Maybe you will want to include a quote or favorite saying. You should have all of these ideas in mind when you take your request to the engraver. Talk with the engraver to finalize the plans so that you know exactly what the results will be.
