Going green is an important movement that has been catching on quickly. With new, easy options every day from plastic packaging options to how you get around your town, people are far more encouraged to join the movement because they don't have to make too many changes to make a difference. If you have a business that relies on plastic packaging and poly bags, you too can get on the green bandwagon with the newest options. Biodegradable poly bags are one such option. They decompose naturally in composting and landfill environments due to their make up. Microorganisms in the environment are able to break down the molecular structure of the plastic films. Films are the kind specifically used for packaging food and other goods. These bags can be made of two different types of material. Bioplastics are made of renewable raw materials. Petroleum-based plastics have an additive that makes them biodegradable. Jute is another option that is very similar to poly bags. The only problem with jute is that it can be very costly, so it may not be the best option for small businesses who don't have the financial means to put into buying jute bags. There are also new poly bags made from corn, so they are also naturally safe for the environment. They are even safe for us; if they were accidentally ingested in some way, they'd be easily digested and pose no toxic threat. The technology is being used in more and more bags and it's growing around the world, most recently in India. When choosing your poly bags for your business, it's important you have good dialogue with the company who you are buying from. Let them know you are looking for green options and ask what kind of plastic packaging they can recommend. Green poly bags are just as customizable as any other, so you can have your advertising or logo printed without problem, another option any reputable poly bag manufacturer can give you. Going green is the only way to be. Make a change with your company and maybe you'll set an example for other companies to follow suit. Poly bags don't have to litter the earth, you can find options that will be mutually beneficial for you and Mother Nature.
